LEGACY COURSE · AVAILABLE ON REQUEST

NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) Course

The classic course — still here, available on request.

This is the original. Before the adaptive trainer, the NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician (AET) course is how a lot of techs first learned the fundamentals — electron theory through aircraft digital systems, one structured module at a time.

It hasn't gone anywhere. If you started it, finish it. If you bought it, it's still in your library.

What the AET course covers

The AET course walks the avionics fundamentals in order — no jumping ahead, no gaps. Built for the tech who wants the whole foundation laid down brick by brick.

  • Electrical fundamentals — voltage, current, resistance, Ohm's law, and how a circuit actually behaves.
  • DC and AC theory — sources, loads, and the math that ties them together.
  • Aircraft electrical systems — 28V buses, distribution, protection, and failure behavior.
  • Digital and avionics systems — from logic basics to the digital systems on a modern aircraft.
  • Aligned to the standard — built around the ASTM / NCATT Aircraft Electronics Technician body of knowledge.

Self-paced. On your schedule. The way it's always been.

Why it's still here

We don't pull courses out from under the people who paid for them. The AET course stays available so current students keep their access and their progress.

It's the classic path: read it, work it, finish it. If that's how you learn, this is your course.

What it is: a structured, self-paced foundation in aircraft electronics.

What it isn't: the adaptive, FAA-cited trainer that's now the front door at ACE. That's the new thing — and it's worth a look.

What's new — the adaptive trainer

Same mission. Sharper tool.

The AET course teaches you the material in order. The new ACE adaptive trainer does something different: it finds exactly what you don't know, proves every answer against the source, and drills your weak spots until they stick.

No rote grinding through what you already have down. Every miss gets diagnosed, cited, and re-queued until it reads SOLID. You get a readiness estimate that updates with every question — so you're not guessing whether you're ready.

If you're heading for a certification exam, that's the path most techs want now.

Two tracks worth knowing about:

CAET

CAET Prep

Adaptive prep for the ASTM / NCATT Certified Aircraft Electronics Technician exam — electricity through digital logic, 28V systems, failure modes, with per-objective mastery tracking. If the AET course laid your foundation, CAET prep is how you preflight the exam.

A&P

A&P Prep

Adaptive prep for the FAA A&P written — General, Airframe, Powerplant. Every miss mapped to an ACS code and cited to the FAA H-8083 handbooks, with oral and practical prep cues and a readiness report.

Which one is for me?

Quick read:

  • Already in the AET course? Your access and progress are right where you left them.
  • Studying for the CAET exam? The adaptive CAET track finds your blind spots and drills them. Start there.
  • Heading for the FAA A&P written? That's a different exam — the A&P track is built for it.

Not sure? The new trainer lets you start a free drill. Ten real questions, a full diagnosis, your first mastery bar. No card required.

A note on what ACE is

ACE Avionics Training is a knowledge-test supplement. We prep you for the written and certification exams — finding gaps, citing the source, drilling weak spots. We are not a flight school, not the certifying body, and not a replacement for a Part 147 program.

The AET course was written and reviewed by working avionics instructors. So is the new adaptive content.

Keep your classic course. Sharpen for the exam.

The AET course is still available on request. The adaptive trainer is the new way to walk into the testing center already knowing the answer. Pick the path that fits where you are.
