CAET Exam Prep for Certified Aircraft Electronics Technicians
Own the fundamentals. Prove it on the test.
The CAET written doesn't care how many years you've spent on the bench. It cares what you missed. ACE finds the gaps in what you know — from electron theory to aircraft digital systems — proves every answer against the source, and drills your weak spots until they read SOLID.

First things first: CAET is not the A&P
Two different credentials. People mix them up constantly.
The ASTM/NCATT Certified Aircraft Electronics Technician credential — the bench credential for avionics techs. It certifies that you own the electronics fundamentals: electricity, electronics, aircraft systems, the works.
The FAA Aviation Mechanic certificate — General, Airframe, and Powerplant knowledge tests. Different test. Different body. Different lane.
ACE preps the written for both. This page is CAET. If you're chasing the FAA A&P, head to A&P Prep instead.
One more thing, since it matters: ACE is a knowledge-test supplement. We are not the certifying body and we don't grant the credential. We get you ready to pass the written — the first time.
Why most CAET study burns your time
Static PDFs and rote quizzes have the same three problems. ACE was built to fix all three.
Rote grinding
You re-read what you already know. The questions you'd ace anyway. Meanwhile the topic that'll sink you sits untouched. Effort isn't the same as progress.
No receipts
A bare answer key tells you you're wrong. It doesn't tell you why, and it doesn't show its work. Every ACE answer cites the source and explains the principle. No "trust me." The reference, every time.
Zero adaptation
A flat practice test asks everyone the same questions in the same order. It can't see your blind spots, so it can't drill them. ACE re-sorts the queue around your weak objectives and deprioritizes what you've already mastered.
Inside CAET Prep
CAET Prep — Certified Aircraft Electronics Technician
For avionics techs proving they own the fundamentals — from electron theory to aircraft digital systems.
- Basic electricity through digital logic — drilled to mastery, not just exposure. Ohm's law to logic gates, in order.
- Aligned to the ASTM/NCATT CAET standard — objective by objective. Nothing off-plan, nothing padded.
- Bench-real scenarios — 28-volt buses, real loads, real failure modes. The questions read like the job.
- Per-objective mastery tracking — every learning objective marked SOLID or REVIEW, so you know exactly when you're ready.
Already certified on the electronics side and chasing the FAA ticket? A&P prep is live today: General $49, Airframe $79, Powerplant $79, or all three for $149. See A&P pricing.
Drill. Diagnose. Adapt. With receipts.
Drill
Questions at keyboard speed. A–D to answer, Enter to advance. Ten-minute sessions on your phone between job cards — no friction, no fluff.
Diagnose
Miss one, and ACE doesn't just mark it red. It pins the miss to the exact CAET objective, cites the source, and explains the principle so it sticks the next time you see it.
Adapt
The queue re-sorts around your weak objectives. Mastered material steps aside. You spend your time where it actually moves the needle.
A landing light runs on a 28-volt bus through a 7-ohm circuit. Find the current.
Ohm's law: I = E / R → 28 ÷ 7 = 4 A.
Miss it, and ACE tags the objective, links the source, walks the math, and requeues it. You won't miss it twice.
Know exactly where you stand
No guessing whether you're ready. As you drill, ACE builds a per-objective mastery map — every CAET learning objective marked SOLID or REVIEW. Built straight from the ASTM/NCATT test plan. Every explanation cites a source.
Written and reviewed by working avionics instructors.
Your readiness estimate updates with every question — so the test won't surprise you. (It's an estimate, not a promise. But it beats walking in blind.)
Sample readiness view. Your map reflects your own answers.

CAET prep questions, answered
What's the difference between CAET and the A&P?
CAET (ASTM/NCATT) certifies aircraft electronics fundamentals — the bench credential for avionics techs. The A&P is the FAA Aviation Mechanic certificate: General, Airframe, and Powerplant knowledge tests. ACE offers adaptive prep for both, on separate tracks.
Is ACE a replacement for a Part 147 program?
No. ACE is a knowledge-test supplement that gets you ready for the written exam. It doesn't replace a maintenance program and it doesn't grant certification.
Is the question bank kept current?
Yes. The bank tracks the current ASTM/NCATT CAET standard and the relevant FAA handbook revisions, and explanations cite the source.
Who writes the questions?
Working avionics instructors write and review the content. It's built from the published test plan, objective by objective.
Can I study on my phone?
Yes. Sessions are mobile-friendly and built for ten minutes at a time — A–D to answer, Enter to advance. Drill on break, on the bus, between job cards.
What's the refund policy?
Every plan carries a 14-day money-back guarantee. No exit interview, no forms.
