Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-07-19. Plain language, no fine-print traps — but this is the real agreement between you and ACE Avionics Training.
Draft — pending attorney review
This page was drafted to accurately reflect ACE's actual product, pricing, and refund policy as implemented in the app and on the pricing page, so the site is not shipping with zero terms. It has not yet been reviewed by a licensed attorney and should get that review before ACE relies on it as a binding legal document, especially around liability limits, arbitration/dispute terms, and any state-specific consumer-protection requirements.
1. Who you're agreeing with
ACE Avionics Training ("ACE," "we," "us") is operated by Nick Brown, doing business as ACE Avionics Training, based in Lee's Summit, Missouri. You can reach us at nickb@aceavionicstraining.com. ACE is a product line distinct from, but affiliated with, Nick's work at the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA); using ACE does not make you an AEA member and AEA membership is not required to use ACE.
By creating an account, starting the free assessment, or purchasing any plan, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
2. What ACE is — and isn't
ACE is a self-study knowledge-test supplement for the FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) written knowledge tests and the CAET (Certified Aircraft Electronics Technician) certification. It adapts to your answers, cites its explanations to FAA source material (the FAA-H-8083 handbook series, Advisory Circulars, and the Airman Certification Standards), and estimates your readiness by knowledge code.
ACE is not: a flight school, an FAA-certificated training provider, a Part 147 Aviation Maintenance Technician School or a replacement for one, the FAA, or a certifying body of any kind. Completing ACE content does not itself qualify you to sit for any FAA exam, and does not substitute for the training, experience, or endorsements the FAA actually requires. Any readiness estimate, mastery score, or "SOLID/REVIEW" indicator ACE shows you is exactly that — an estimate based on your performance inside the app — not a guarantee you will pass any exam. Whether you pass depends on your own knowledge, preparation, and performance on exam day, none of which ACE controls.
3. Accounts
You need an account with a verified email address to access paid content. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at nickb@aceavionicstraining.com if you think your account has been compromised.
Accounts are for individual use. Sharing a paid account's login across multiple people isn't permitted under these Terms; if your school or program wants to put ACE in front of a group of students, email us — that's a conversation we want to have, on its own terms, not a workaround.
4. Plans, pricing, and billing
Current pricing lives on the pricing page, which controls if anything here goes stale. As of this writing:
- General, Airframe, Powerplant — one-time purchases ($49 / $79 / $79) that permanently unlock that subject's adaptive bank for your account.
- All-Three Bundle — a one-time $149 purchase that unlocks all three A&P subjects.
- Cleared to Pass membership — a recurring subscription ($29/month or $199/year) that keeps all three A&P subjects unlocked, plus content updates, for as long as the subscription stays active. You can cancel anytime; access continues through the end of the period you already paid for, and no further charges occur after that.
All payments are processed by Stripe. ACE does not receive or store your full card number. Prices are in US dollars and may change for future purchases; a price change never retroactively affects a purchase or subscription period you've already paid for.
5. 14-day money-back guarantee
Every plan — one-time or membership — includes a 14-day money-back guarantee. Email nickb@aceavionicstraining.com within 14 days of your purchase (or, for membership, within 14 days of a given billing charge) and you get that charge refunded. No forms, no exit interview, no partial credit — a full refund of the payment in question. Outside that 14-day window, purchases are final and membership charges are refunded only if a cancellation request through this policy hasn't already been honored for that billing period.
6. Acceptable use
Don't scrape, redistribute, resell, or publicly republish ACE's question bank, explanations, or other content. Don't attempt to circumvent the paywall, share credentials to avoid paying, or interfere with the service's normal operation (including its anti-abuse checks on public endpoints like the free assessment and the leaderboard). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.
7. Content and intellectual property
The question bank, explanations, distractor rationale, and the ACS-code mapping are ACE's original work product, authored and reviewed against public FAA source material (the FAA-H-8083 handbook series, FAA Advisory Circulars, and FAA-S-ACS-1). You get a personal, non-transferable license to use that content to study for your own exam. FAA regulations, handbooks, and the ACS itself are U.S. government works and aren't ACE's to license — we cite them, we don't own them.
8. No warranty; limitation of liability
ACE is provided "as is." We work hard to keep every explanation accurate and cited to a real FAA source, and we run a content-audit pass against a published item-quality rubric, but we don't warrant that the service is error-free, uninterrupted, or that using it will result in passing any exam. To the maximum extent the law allows, ACE isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including a missed exam attempt, retake fees, or lost income. This section is exactly the kind of thing that needs a real attorney's pass for your jurisdiction before you treat it as final.
9. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above; continuing to use ACE after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
